Description and Teaching Objectives
This Degree provides specific skills to operate within tourism systems in contexts characterised by an integrated offer of cultural and environmental heritage in order to design and implement urban and local regeneration, enhance cultural and environmental heritage, as well as to create and promote new tourist products.
This course provides students with knowledge of the essential components of tourism processes and the latest local organisation and programming strategies. This is done through a highly articulated training including regional planning, marketing, administration and knowledge management.
Graduates are urged to recognise the characteristics of sites and cultures with a view to sustainable tourist development, to manage systems for tourist offer and individual industry players, and to programme intervention projects in the field of cultural tourism at a local, national and international level. Furthermore, they learn how to identify funding means envisaged in EU Development Funds and in Implementation Documents at national and local level, and to manage communication and marketing activities for tourism products.
Career Opportunities
Graduates may perform high-responsibility tasks within cultural and tourist industry bodies.
They can work as freelancers or employees within private and public companies and organisations as: experts in territorial marketing for tourism; experts in e-commerce for tourism; experts in communication for the tourist and cultural sector; experts in the production of traditional publishing and multimedia tools related to culture and tourism; designers and managers of cultural events for tourism; designers and managers of goods and services for cultural tourism; programmers for sustainable tourism.
